Adding Subdomain to your website (Dorik Classic & CMS)

Getting Started



This documentation will guide you through the process required to add a Subdomain to your Classic & CMS site. To know the whole process, follow all the steps below accordingly.


Add a Subdomain to your Static site



Follow all the steps below to add a subdomain to your Dorik Static website:

- Log in to your account & go to Dorik Classic
- Select any existing published site where you want to add a subdomain
- Click on ... from the lower right corner & a pop-up will appear
- Select ⚙️ Site Settings & a pop-up will appear again
- Choose Custom Domain (without www) under Site URL Settings
- Write your subdomain (For e.g. test.dorik.homes ) in the Enter your domain input field
- Copy the IPv4 address (E.g 174.138.116.26) of the A record value
- Press Save Changes
- Go back to your domain provider’s DNS Setting panel
- Add a new record by clicking on + Add Record
- The record type should be A
- Write the extension’s name in the Name input field
- Paste the IPv4 address that you copied before from your site into the next input field
- `Disable` the Proxy Status
- Save the Record by clicking on Save
- Go back to your site, Publish it, and Visit your subdomain
- After visiting your subdomain once, you can go back to the domain provider’s DNS Setting panel and Enable the Proxy Status

Write your subdomain (For e.g. test.dorik.homes ) in the Enter your domain input field
Copy the IPv4 address (E.g 174.138.116.26) of the A record value
Press Save Changes




Go back to your domain provider’s DNS Setting panel
Add a new record by clicking on + Add Record



The record type should be A
Write the extension’s name in the Name input field
Paste the IPv4 address that you copied before from your site into the next input field
Save the Record by clicking on Save

Before pressing save, make sure you Disable the Proxy Status button next to the IPv4 address field.




Go back to your site, Publish it, and Visit your Subdomain URL

After visiting your subdomain once, you can go back to the domain provider’s DNS Setting panel and Enable the Proxy Status.



Add a Subdomain to your CMS site



Follow all the steps below to add a subdomain to your Dorik CMS website:

- Once you are in your website’s Dashboard, click on Custom Domain
- Add the name of the subdomain in the first input field (blog.example.com)
- Copy the IPv4 address (E.g 18.119.18.10) of the A record value
- Click on Connect Domain
- Go back to your domain provider’s DNS Setting panel
- Add a new record by clicking on + Add Record
- The record type should be A
- Write the extension’s name in the Name input field (For e.g. ‘blog’ for blog.example.com)
- Paste the IPv4 address that you copied before from your site into the next input field
- Disable the Proxy Status
- Save the Record by clicking on Save
- Go back to your site, Publish it, and Visit your subdomain
- After visiting your subdomain once, you can go back to the domain provider’s DNS Setting panel and Enable the Proxy Status

Subdomains are added to another CMS website and won’t work on your existing CMS pages. In short, you can create subdomains from your domain provider’s DNS records, which can be integrated into its own CMS Site.

Once you are in your website’s Dashboard, click on Custom Domain
Add the name of the subdomain in the first input field (blog.example.com)
Copy the IPv4 address (E.g 18.119.18.18) of the A Record Value
Click on Connect Domain




Go back to your domain provider’s DNS Setting panel and add a new record



The record type should be A
Write the extension’s name in the Name input field (For e.g., ‘blog’ for blog.example.com)
Paste the IPv4 address that you copied before from your site into the next input field
Save the Record by clicking on Save

Publish your site and Visit your subdomain

After visiting your subdomain once, you can go back to the domain provider’s DNS Setting panel and Enable the Proxy Status button next to the IPv4 address field.
